dmcgrann: Don’t have enough time to address your posting, but with the numerous dentists and dental surgeons from Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee, West Virginia, and doctors from Kentucky and Pennsylvania as well as Georgia and Louisiana working in the teams in Appalachia, I think they are making a huge difference in the lives of the poor children of Appalachia. They have worked there for over the past 30 years, providing free dental care, medical care, and sponsoring scholarships for the children. I am honored to have helped a tiny bit and will return soon to help again. I am sure you are doing your part in helping the needy where you live.

My values, sense of humor, football philosophy, and support for the teams of the SEC, including LSU, haven’t changed. But when people attack my team and coach incessantly, I will speak up. And if they post that he’s a liar and their coach a saint, I’ll post clips of their coach lying. If I’m under attack, I’d hope those I’ve steadfastly supported and encouraged will show me the same loyalty. When they don’t, I’m candid about my disappointment. But you must have learned by now that being honest and speaking up for yourself against the majority doesn’t win popularity contests.

How is life in the swamp? Don’t forget, hon, these are the same folks who begged me to pounce on nasty ol’ you. Provocative football commentary is controversial. I enjoy it and don’t mind taking hits–or thumbs down–for speaking my piece. This nonsense isn’t karma–it’s people going through their second childhood. But much as they like to think they are “among the majority here at CFT,” this site attracts 8 million unique viewers a month during its busy season. Those readers come here for football, not travelogues and recipes and could care less about petty vendettas. I get plenty of positive feedback from people who actually seem interested in the sport. That works for me.

Yes … we both know you’re lurking. You’ve got your people on here now posting that I’ve said inappropriate things to young boys … on an adult football Web site. How proud you must be. And all this simply because I expressed disappointment that you wouldn’t back me up as I had backed you up over and over again, and supported you and prayed for your family. And of course, because I continued to support my own team. What’s most disappointing is that you have allowed and encouraged so much evil on your behalf toward someone foolish enough to befriend you in the first place. What sad, petty people you all are. Enjoy your vengeance. But remember that whatever tales and denials your friends post here, one will always know. For that, I’m sorrier for all of you than anyone reading this will understand.

I love the Cajun recipes that southernpatriots posted a few months ago. I made the redbeans and rice for my family and for friends at work and a third time since. I also love their travel log and reports from various places they go and work they do. I wish I could join them to work among the poor of Appalachia. My heart has gone out to them since I saw the ABC documentary a few years ago, I think it was called “Children of the Mountain” with Dianne Sawyer.

Deb may be experiencing “reaping what she sowed” from what she has posted to young boys before as well as fans from other schools. It is good know she is now married, and someone turned her.

If I were a professional (and you don’t know if I am of not) in any sense of the word, and was needed to “help” the “victims of Sandusky”, the LAST thing I’d do would be to post that information here.

I’m happy for you guys who are taking your traveling show to Athens, Knoxville, Morgantown, and State College to “help” people. My guess is that you probably don’t provide the help they need, but maybe you do. My guess is that they’ll feel better once you come, but be the same when you leave. Keep trying. In any event, your good deeds have NOTHING to do with college football. Oh, and not everyone thinks that Louisiana home/Cajun cooking is that great, anyway. You’d be surprised at how many folks just like a good meatloaf.

Now, lest tigersgeaux and southernpatriots think I’m picking on them, Deb, what are you Tide folks thinking? You know what the folks in the hinterland think? It’s a football site, not a knitting circle. JT doesn’t take issue with good-natured smacktalk and the kind of general sports banter that commonly occurs on these sports sites. He writes that way himself. I’ve had a lot of positive feedback on my comments. If they’re too salty for you, skip them. Your friends, southernpatriots, regularly posted that they found me hilarious until I had an altercation with an LSU fan. I guess fandom is thicker than friendship.

What JT minds is the ongoing junior-high hair-pulling nonsense. My own participation in these infantile catfights is mortifying to me, more than anything because I hate playing into such an obvious gender stereotype. All female LSU fans are “cows” as Deb has posted at various times, including in this thread. I would recommend monitoring her postings for the next few months if you don’t already know through her postings, Deb has chased away fans from LSU, B1G, PAC, and other conferences and schools. They continue to post on Bleacher Report and other sites but seldom do here any longer.

Sorry … being followed around the site by a pack of junior high mean girls (except in this case, it’s a bunch of old biddies) does get my dander up occasionally. It would make a great psychological case study. Besides the fact that I’m an adult and fight my own battles, my friends and family have lives. I can’t fathom even suggesting to them that they register on a Web site for the sole purpose of using the little thumbs to harass someone they don’t know. And if I did suggest such a thing, they’d think it was time for an intervention.

This is a Web site, not a clubhouse. We come here to read the articles and comment … not to bring all our friends. That my comments have driven away people is the invention of someone who doesn’t like what I post. Too bad. The only person waging an organized campaign to drive anyone away is tigersgeaux. She needs help. But I’m not in that business. However, I’ll work on praying for her … and sticking to the subject.

There was a nice example at the Sweet Sixteen tourney last night here in the BlueGrass.

The Lincoln County girls presented a check to the Magoffin (West Liberty) girls before their quarter-final game. They took the contributions at their school.

The Tide witch ridicules the good the folks in the family of public servants which post under the name of “southernpatriots” who help a family of Bama fans who like most fans at the BCS NCG at the Superdome who did not have the extra funds to spend a large amount on an unexpected auto repair (the price of tickets, lodging, and food already extended many budgets) and as usual the good family of patriots and public servants extends a helping hand. The good Tide witch admits through her ridicule she would have done nothing to help them.

What a great asset to CFT she is. She has brought no one to CFT, but has chased numerous fans from LSU, the B1G, and even the PAC as well as other conferences and schools away by her diatribes, criticisms, and postings. I am not going anywhere either. Perhaps I should adopt a policy as other posters have stated in previous postings to put a thumbs down each time I see the Tide witch’s postings? At least if I did that I could enable her to at least not lie anymore when she falsely accuses me of doing this. I think not, I will just let the Tide witch continue to be liar she already is and let other fans express themselves as they have in the past.

My posting was absolutely correct but had an “s” which offended the same Tide witch who falsely accuses (same as lying) LSU fans on previous postings. My posting was a general posting and was satire. (thus according to her it is not to be criticized) as she defends sychophant Tide friends here on CFT when they criticize and mock Coach Miles, though they don’t know him and object to us criticizing Coach Nick C’est Bon and we do know him, since he was our coach and Miles was never their’s. Such is the hypocrisy and double standard practiced by one Tide fan.

I hope to be able to travel through Auburn at Easter week to see the work being done on the Trees at Toomer’s Corner as I travel with southernpatriots’ family on a return trip to West Virginia to help bring dental and medical care to many rural children and elderly. We will visit people they know there, stay overnight, and then through Athens, GA, Knoxville, and into Morgantown. They also may be able to take a side trip to State College, PA as they have been requested. They have friends there working with some of the victims of Sandusky.
