Wake officially adds Duffie to staff

More than two weeks after it was first reported, Jim Grobe has again officially completed his Wake Forest coaching staff.

The Demon Deacons confirmed via a press release that Grobe has hired Tim Duffie as secondary coach. Duffie’s previous employer, Colorado State, had confirmed his departure earlier this month.

Duffie will replace Steve Russ, who left for the defensive coordinator job at his alma mater Air Force last month.

“I’m really excited about adding Tim to our staff,” said Grobe. “He has a great deal of experience on defense and particularly in the secondary. Tim is also a great recruiter. I feel like we’ve hired somebody who will not only do a good job on defense but will help bring some great players to Wake Forest.”

Prior to spending the past four seasons with the Rams, Duffie served for eight seasons as an assistant at UTEP.
