NC State RB not practicing, but with team

Sidelined in 2011 with a foot injury, North Carolina State running back Mustafa Greene (great name) missed Tuesday’s practice, prompting some questions about his future with the team.

Much like the situation at Tennessee with Da’Rick Rogers, NC State coach Tom O’Brien quickly put to bed any speculation about Greene’s status without going into detail.

“There are great rumors that he was kicked off the team, but there is nothing new that way,” O’Brien said. “He’s not practicing right now.”

When asked if Greene was healthy, O’Brien responded with “I think.”

Greene was the WolfPack’s leading rusher in 2010, totaling 597 yards and six total touchdowns. However, offseason foot surgery combined with rehab gone awry forced Greene to take a redshirt year last season.
