Tra Carson officially leaves Oregon

Nearly a month after it was first reported by the Eugene Register-Guard, Oregon has confirmed that running back Tra Carson has left the program.

In a statement, UO acknowledged ”the speculation” regarding Carson’s future with the Ducks. “However, he apparently had not completely dismissed the notion of a return to Oregon until shortly before the end of the winter term,” the statement read.

Carson’s future had been a point of curiosity ever since the running back hinted on his Twitter account last month that he wasn’t sure “what color uniform I’ll be in next year.”

Carson rushed for 254 yards on 45 carries in 10 games in 2011.
