APFlorida State’s fifth-leading tackler from last year, Vince Williams, was looking to ride the momentum of 2011 as he competed for the starting middle linebacker job this year.
Unfortunately for Williams, he’ll have to wait until fall camp to resume that competition.
Jimbo Fisher confirmed today that Williams had sustained a broken tibia during practice on Thursday and will be out four to six weeks.
“In four or five weeks, he’ll be fine,” Fisher said, adding the injury was only a ”slight crack.”
Williams had 54 tackles, two sacks and one interception in 13 games last season.
