Last month, Missouri had to break the unfortunate news that quarterback James Franklin would be sidelined for the remainder of spring practices because of necessary shoulder surgery. Now, the Tigers will be minus another offensive piece.
Coach Gary Pinkel announced that tight end Eric Waters has a torn MCL, an injury he sustained a couple of days ago. At the time, it wasn’t known how serious the injury was. Waters is set to have surgery Tuesday and will be out for the rest of the spring. However, Pinkel expects Waters to be back for the start of fall camp.
Waters, who had just two receptions last season (although one went for a 42-yard touchdown), joins Franklin and running back Henry Josey as offensive players for Mizzou who have been either held out or hurt this spring.
Missouri’s spring game is next Saturday.
