Bo Pelini on Arkansas connection: it’s ‘kind of ludicrous’

Gus Malzahn stated simply he was the coach at Arkansas State.

Skip Holtz called the connection flattering.

Nebraska coach Bo Pelini, on the other hand, was not as giddy to have his name connected to the now-open job at Arkansas. Or, maybe he was just being Bo. Either way, Pelini essentially dismissed the idea that he would be the next coach of the Razorbacks.

You talking about the Arkansas thing?” Pelini asked when the topic came up. “Actually, I didn’t even know my name got thrown around. I don’t even know how that stuff happens.

“I’m here and I’m happy to be here.”

Pelini went on to call the connection “kind of ridiculous.” Although not on JT’s list of potential candidates, Pelini’s name has been making its way through the rumor mill following the dismissal of Bobby Petrino last night. I guess no one told him.

“I always say this (Nebraska) is a destination job; it’s not a stepping stone job,” Pelini said. “People throw names out there. At the end of the day, we’re focused on trying to win a championship here.

“That’s all I’m concerned with. That’s what we’re looking forward to doing -- having the best football team we can this fall.”
