Tulsa QB to undergo hip surgery, should be ready for fall camp

With Tulsa’s spring practices firmly in the rear view mirror, quarterback Cody Green will finally be able to repair a nagging hip injury he’s been dealing with since his days at Nebraska.

Green said he will undergo arthroscopic surgery on April 24 to repair torn ligaments in his hip. The surgery will sideline Green for a few weeks, but the former Cornhusker says he should be back in time for fall camp.

“Once I have surgery, I’ll be out for three weeks and not be doing anything,” Green said. “I’ll have to watch as much film and remain familiar with the offense … basically, I need to put myself in a spot to be able to come back and not miss a beat.”

Green sat out the 2011 to satisfy NCAA transfer requirements.
