Arkansas LB arrested on pair of charges after burglary

Arkansas Logo

Man, Arkansas. It has not been your offseason, has it?

As if Razorback fans needed any more negative attention brought to the program, linebacker Tyler Gilbert decided it would be in good form to help his friends bust down the door of an apartment and steal stuff — allegedly.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, Gilbert, along with two others, broke into an apartment late last Thursday evening and proceeded to take items out of the residence. The apartment belonged to a fraternity brother of one of the other alleged intruders, Jesse Booker.

As a result, Gilbert has been hit with charges of aggravated burglary and theft of property. He has been suspended indefinitely from the team.

Among the items stolen included a purple and gold Omega Psi Phi banner (Booker’s fraternity), camouflage military clothing, a plastic purple and gold hockey mask, two dog collars and four $20 bills.

There is also apparently a partial tape of the incident taken by a cellphone that was given to the police.

Most of the stuff seems to be fraternity related other than the money. Sorry but purple-gold are also Omega Psi Phi colors(not only LSU). Sounds like a fraternity prank (other than the $) gone bad-no offense if anyone here has never been through hazing.

I was worried this would happen. Without Bobby Petrino to serve as a moral beacon, the players straying down the path of crime and drugs.

Was he alone? Was there a blond girl walking by in a motorcycle helmet?

It has been reported that Gilbert has been kicked off the Arkansas squad. Not to worry, Steve Spurrier offered Gilbert a full ride to SC, the starting LB position, a truck load of cash and three get out of jail free cards. Stay classy Shamecocks.

Ark has had their troubles as alot of teams but with Bobby gone I see a much worse season in Arkansas then in the last few.Razorbacks have alot of rebuilding to catch up on to get a good coach as BP was.Trouble ahead for the hogs.

Just about every team goes thru a transition when changing coaches. The best thing Ark can do is find a coach that runs systems similar to Patrino so that the new coach wont have players recruited that don’t fit the scheme he wants.
