Another blow: USF D-lineman to miss ’12 with ACL tear

Just days after South Florida received the unfortunate news that a fractured fibula would sideline veteran defensive tackle Cory Grissom for an indefinite period of time, the Bulls have been dealt an injury to another player along the defensive line.

Coach Skip Holtz confirmed today that backup DE Anthony Hill has torn his ACL and will undergo season-ending surgery on Friday. Hill played in 10 games last season, but only notched eight tackles. He did, however, force a fumble and record a sack.

Still, depth is always at a premium this time of year and the goal for every coach is to get through spring unscathed.
