USF player tweets Aaron Lynch headed to Bulls

When it was first announced last week that Aaron Lynch would be transferring from Notre Dame, one of the immediate frontrunners for potential destinations for the former Florida high school product was USF.

Nearly a week later, that speculation will apparently come to fruition. Provided a current Bulls player’s sources can be trusted, of course.

In a tweet posted to his Twitter account earlier Thursday afternoon, and as pointed out by Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, USF safety Spencer Boyd urged fans of the USF program to “show love and follow my bro @tHa_Killa_19 ! He’ll be joining the USF family in the summer! Big addition to the team!”

“tHa_Killa_19" is Lynch’s Twitter handle. Coincidentally enough, Boyd also started his collegiate career with the Irish -- he transferred to USF in July of 2010 -- after playing his high school ball in Cape Coral, the same city from which Lynch hails.

The school, obviously, has yet to confirm anything involving Lynch. The linebacker is scheduled to make an official visit to the school this weekend, so some type of announcement from USF may be in the offing shortly thereafter.

Suffice to say, the addition of Lynch, who would likely have to sit out the 2012 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules, would be a huge get for Skip Holtz‘s team. As a true freshman in 2011, Lynch led the Irish in sacks with 5.5 and tied for third in tackles for loss with seven.

He started six games as a true freshman in 2011, a few months after coming to South Bend as the No. 28 player in the country at any position.
