Manning Way gets a new speed limit to honor Eli

manning way

One of the cooler college traditions is getting a slight modification.

Ole Miss’ Manning Way, named for Rebels great Archie Manning, has previously had a speed limit of 18 mph in honor of Manning’s collegiate number.

No more.

The school changed that speed limit Friday night to a more common number — 10 mph — in honor of the now two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning, who, of course, wore No. 10 while playing for Ole Miss from 2000-03.

Ole Miss will kick off the Hugh Freeze era with the Grove Bowl, which takes place today at 1 p.m.

    The entire Manning Family should be proud! The Parents did a wonderful job raising their Family.

    the three combined superbowls made me think that, not the speed limit change at Ole Miss.

    While the Manning family at times acts too much like something out of the Godfather for my liking-I tend to agree with you. You do not have to worry much about one of the Mannings doing something incredibly stupid off the field causing a PR nightmare and they seem to at root be decent people who handle their fame quite well.

    Expect Peyton likes to spend time with ladies who aren’t his wife.

    I’d be pissed if I got a speeding ticket due to speed limit change.

    Since I don’t know much about their personal lives, I’m not going to comment on what kind of parenting the Mannings did. But Archie certainly knows how to breed exceptional quarterbacks. They’ve said the other brother–who was permanently sidelined by medical issues–was even better than Peyton and Eli. Amazing. Maybe Archie should have run a quarterbacks school after retirement.

    @jimbo75025 …

    Really? I always thought he was a QB, too. Well, learn something new every day ;)

    You know, folks, life is hard. I’m glad I can laugh at myself and my screwups. If y’all want to give me thumbs down for that, fine. It must be tough to be perfect like you are :lol:

    I can appreciate honoring Eli but this seems like a stupid move. I hope this isn’t a long road. It is difficult to drive 10 mph for an extended length of time. You have to keep your foot off the gas or ride the brake the whole time. Good thing Eli didn’t wear #3…..
