Aaron Lynch officially signs with USF

To the surprise of no one, except perhaps his own mother, former Notre Dame defensive end Aaron Lynch has made his much-anticipated move to South Florida official.

Exactly 10 days after it became official that he would be departing South Bend following just one year, USF announced in a release that Lynch had officially joined the team for the 2012 season.

“With Aaron originally being from Florida, we’re very familiar with the kind of player he is,” coach Skip Holtz said. “Aaron had a great freshman season at Notre Dame and we’re excited to welcome him into the Bulls family.”

A Freshman All-American season, to be exact. In 12 games (and six starts) last season, Lynch recorded 33 tackles, 5.5 sacks, seven TFL, 14 pressures and a forced fumble for the Irish. Lynch was one of the prize recruits of Notre Dame’s 2011 class, being listed as the third-best defensive end and 28th-best prospect overall, according to Rivals.com.

Will USF file an appeal to allow Lynch to play immediately?

Guess Tuck was at Subway and was unavailable to speak with Lynch

As a Bulls fan this is awesome. The only thing that could make it better is if there was a way he could get on the field this year. Pairing him with Giddins would be the best pass rush in the BE and one of the better combos in the country.

Unfortunately USF still needs a QB to transfer in. Two years of BJ was too many.

Lynch was drawn to USF by the power of pussy…not football.

What a disappointment. Apparently a good education didn’t mean all that much to Lynch.

they should file a appeal so he can play right away,oh wait that only works if you are transferring to dame and not from there. but he is from fla. so why can’t he say he wants to be closer to his family? it worked for the guy dame got from usc.

Metal head needs to do his homework. His mom moved to Ohio to be closer to Aaron @ ND. She’s still in Ohio, so moving back b/c of family doesn’t fly. Regarding the Carlisle transfer from SC, I agree….he should have to sit a year. If it makes u feel better, he’s buried on the depth chart (4th string at best) & has been injured all Spring…I’d much rather have Lynch.

Carlisle will be second string. GA3 can’t stop fumbling. Theo and Amir are interchangeable.

Precisely why he will have 2 kids before he leaves college early to enter draft and be a awful student (if he even has to go to class) and get purple bumps on his junk and go drafted in the later rounds and file for bankruptcy as his career will fall hard.

    ND – 40 year plan.

USF- Quick fix, less repsonsibility, easy way out, short route to NFL chance, who cares
