Mike Bellamy going to Mississippi JUCO

Mike Bellamy AP

A week ago, it became official that Clemson running back Mike Bellamy was academically ineligible for the 2012 season. Head coach Dabo Swinney said in a statement that Bellamy, a former five-star recruit, would be taking the JUCO route until his grades got back on track.

Swinney said yesterday to the Greenville News that Bellamy would enroll in a Junior College in Mississippi in hopes of restarting his career.

“I sleep well knowing we did everything we could,” Swinney said. “Did we do everything we could? Was there something more I could have done? These are the questions I always ask myself, and that’s why I’m sleeping well — we did our part.”

Bellamy was second on the team in rushing yards (343) and rushing touchdowns (three) at the time of his first suspension last season.

Players have to remember that grades are as important as a game of football, college football that is..

He’ll be enrolled at Aiburn Lockett split! Hw’ll be perfect there.

I am SHOCKED (pleasantly so) that dabo did the right thing & didn’t bribe the administration to allow this student to remain in school & on the team! SHOCKED I tell you!!!!! So, GOOD FOR dabao for a change. BUT……I fear “thegamecocker” may be right; Auburn will sweep him or any other reject up & put them in uniform if they can perform….regardless of grades or criminal record.

Matriculation is only a signature away at Auburn.

@thegamecocker- I see your South Carolina education has served you well. #spellcheck

I must have written this from my iPhone b/c I am normally more careful about grammar and spelling. What I mean to say in that short post was: “He’ll be enrolled at Auburn lickity-split! He’ll be perfect there”. Doubt lickity-split is a real word but I want you to know I took the time to look it up so give me some “props” for that.

  6. thegamecocker says: May 23, 2012 9:08 AM

OMG! What I “meant” to say…..and I just googled lickity-split and it is in some dictionaries. It was not in the dictionary next to my iMAC though.

Doesn’t have to go to class; doesn’t have to earn credits; and if you win a NC they create a statue for you! Cam Newton and Auburn are the epitome of what college football SHOULD NOT BE! a disgrace! That is why people snicker at the 2010 NC…..a farce!

  8. auburntigers34 says: May 23, 2012 9:25 AM

you are so full of crap. but i love knowing that Auburn winning a NC bugs the living hell out of you.

other than Cam Newton and Brandon Mosley, name a JC transfer that Auburn has signed under Chizik. the fact of the matter is that there are many, many programs out there that sign a helluva lot more Jucos than Auburn does.

  9. thegamecocker says: May 23, 2012 9:33 AM

Just having some fun….relax. It’s my way of bringing focus to how pathetic the entire role of college athletics has become. But please don’t try and pass Cam Newton off as a “college student” because that makes Auburn look stupid. And are they really putting up a statue of someone who was their one semester? Pat Sullivan was worthy because he GRADUATED and was a Heisman Trophy winner. Newton, NOT AT ALL!!!!

  10. auburntigers34 says: May 23, 2012 12:50 PM

how does that make Auburn look stupid? is Newton the first Juco transfer to make an early jump to the NFL? he was the top pick in the draft. are you saying that he made a mistake by leaving early?

seriously, other than the fact that he kicked SC’s @ss twice in the same season, i don’t get your beef with Cam Newton.

  11. thegamecocker says: May 23, 2012 10:29 PM

He was a “hired gun” who had no idea of what college was all about. He’s a liar and a thief who was told to leave the U of Florida! This is who you idolize? How many credits did cam-the-thief take? how many credits did he pass? What were the courses? C’mon auburn34, tell us about it! Ya f’ing moron!

  12. crocdoc3 says: May 23, 2012 10:59 PM

Cam-the-Scam didn’t even honor his 2 year contract with StupaTroopa before he left the Barn. The Barn got its every-50-year NC and Cam’s Diddy -well, likely got a ton of small unmarked freshly-laundered small denomination greenbacks. I’m sure if discovered, he’ll say it’s $cam’s signing bonus – from Auburn or pro football? He was truly the best QB money could buy. I would also like to see if $cam ever attended a class on the Farm. But give old Jizzwizz some credit – he stuck with old $cam up til he split town. Most coaches knew $cam was trouble, but *U is SO desperate to pretend to be relevant that they made a wise financial investment. Good return on dirty money. WDF!

  13. crocdoc3 says: May 23, 2012 11:08 PM

Auburn34, the issue isn’t JUCO – the issue is ‘troubled athletes’ who bounce from Florida to JUCO to The Barn. I understand Cameron Clear is heading to Auburn because his story so closely resembles their ‘zHERO’ – his name is Cam and he likes stolen laptops and is a FREAK athlete. Question is, how much is his daddy asking? We know college attendance is not required there as long as SOMEBODY can log in on the internet. Bellamy needs to do something demonstrating ‘questionable morals’ in order to qualify for StupaTroopa’s attention, and next thing you know, he’ll be their next Mike Dyer… Oh yeah, let’s hope he doesn’t want to ‘spice up’ his likely-short career at The Homeliest Village.

  14. crocdoc3 says: May 23, 2012 11:18 PM

oh, Aubun34, there IS a difference between INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE and NOT GUILTY. Just ask SCAM’s favorite athlete, OJ SIMPSON. “If not enough people will talk, you must acquit”. That’s what ALL IN is all about.

  15. crocdoc3 says: May 24, 2012 12:22 AM

Aubutt34, I’m waiting on the Auburn Screed “Because I am an Auburn man and woman, I will believe what I am told, and blame anything bad we do on Alabama, Georgia, Tennesse, Mississippi or anyone else”

Thanks for your posts (not being facetious, I seriously enjoyed reading your latest here). I am at a loss to understand how anyone can respect cam (lower case letters intended) newton & chizit. Until chizit got there, I usually had “some” respect for Auburn…but with the advent of cam, I have now come to the conclusion that: “I’m rooting for ANYONE who plays Auburn….to beat Auburn.” I just can’t abide what cam & his father did .

  17. thegamecocker says: May 24, 2012 8:14 AM

    @crocdoc3 & drjem

I said from the outset their NC” was BOGUS! I will always believe that regardless of the “official NCAA” position. What a crock of crap when they allowed this felon to keep his eligibility and then a month later changed the NCAA rules so that it wouldn’t happen again. Nah, to me Auburn is right up with there with teams to despise with Clemson. Both can go to H–l!

you’re an idiot. hate on Cam all you like. don’t let the facts get in the way of your BS theories and opinions.

No aubtig34: you are the biggest head in the sand person blogging on this thread. You don’t want to believe your school got away with a MAJOR TRANSGRESSION because the NCAA did not have the balls to make the correct decision and declare scam ineligible! You are a moron and the thing you should now do is apologize and then STFU! You stick your foot in your mouth every time you post! Your a typical auburn head up your arse athletic supporter. Perfect for you

    Umm Nick Fairley.

Not sure it is a great idea to put up a statue of a kid that quite possibly never attended a regular class at AU. We know he took on-line classes while at AU. Coach Gene Chizik claimed he was allowed him to take on-line classes while at AU so students would not bother him in class. It is not known if he only took on-line classes his whole time at AU which was only a year. It is no big deal to me if he did. However it may seem kind of strange to some people to build a statue of someone who might never have taken a single regular class at AU. Yes he was a great player but he certainly was not much of a student other than he somehow met the basic requirements. It also is not the same as those who attend AU for 3 or 4 years and play 3 years and leave early for the NFL. I do not think Cam was the only juco. Nick Fairley was a juco. Eltoro Freeman was a juco and they took a few more who may not have been successful or did not make it for some reason.

It amazes me the degree of Mass Psychosis required by the Aubum Nation to stay on the Tragical History Tour with Jizz, backward-cap and now Stiffler and VanWilder. I never knew he was being kept from his classmates by being told to take online courses. How do they verify WHO does the classwork when someone gets online credit? I know Aubum got in trouble reading Sociology to their football players who can’t read – James Brooks comes to mind – so having a designated Internet-Substitute (I can hear Jizz now: “Well, ***** isn’t very computer savvy, so **** was just helping him with the computer”) do your classwork for you sounds like Aubum is about to have a big recruiting advantage – because they are SCUM enough to cheat like this “but everybody does it, so we’re just being proactive”. Wow! That may be a new low even for the Pat Dye (Aubum football administration.) At least Alabama didn’t HIRE Updyke and Tea-bagger to make student-athlete policy!

  23. thegamecocker says: May 24, 2012 9:06 PM

OMG! He took on-line courses to keep himself away from the student body! They were BOTHERING HIM! Honestly, I never heard of such a thing and it is disgusting. I have absolutely no respect for Chizek or the program he has run. And I loathe Auburn. After cheating at U of Florida, they allowed scam newton, this fake, phony, fraud of a student to take on-line courses. Gee I wonder if someone was helping scam take his on-line tests? But he knew he was leaving so he probably didn’t take the tests….. Auburn didn’t care! Chizek didn’t care! And the a-holes at the NCAA didn’t care! But you know who does care? JOHN Q. PUBLIC and you cannot fool US! That is why their NC is non-existent. And they make a example of Southern Cal! A SUPERIOR UNIVERSITY VS. Auburn….on and off the field.

Just because Auburn put an epic beat down on the roosters. There is no reason to be bitter. I Mr, Garcia was arrested and suspended about 5 or 6 times, You all have your head in the sand. If remember correcting you had a number of players staying in hotels for free or very little rent. College football is a business and if Scam Newton would have showed up on any college campus. He would have been a fan favor. Just like all the others players who are involved in scandals. Auburn had room in the salary cap, so the picked up a free agent. And they are still your 2010 NC. And the real USC was stripped of the NC. It’s a business and if you have not figured that out yet. Read the article on every sports page. And you will see story after story of cheating by almost every team. So, try and apin how you want College Football is a business and the is no such thing as student atheles. Sorry to shatter you dreams.

    War Eagle !!!

LOL! You auburners are just too much. You’re just too tough for me. But auburn has not beaten the Trojans in about, in about……NEVER!
Yet y’all got bent outta shape when they beat Auburn in LA in 2002 and the plains in 2003. No such thing as a student athlete you say? The sad truth is I think you are correct! Heaven knows if there is a school that can prove it, it is Auburn. A dubious distinction to be clear! A renegade program with a bogus nc lead by a player who the NCAA would rule ineligible a week after he was through at auburn.

Everyone on here needs to find themselves a girlfriend asafp. Who argues stupid opinions like this. Nobody cares what you idiots feel is wrong or right. F___en losers.

If you don’t like reading these comments, then rise from your seat on the toilet, clean yourself up, turn-off your iPAD, wash your hands, and get back to work. No one is forcing you to read about scam newton, his daddy the “padre”, or his felon ways…. call your girlfriend and have a great time. Apparently many of the scribers who opine do care about relevant matter such as ELIGIBILTY and which schools cheat (that would be AUBURN).
