Miami, Randy Shannon settle contract dispute

A month or so after it became public that former Miami coach Randy Shannon was suing his former employer, the two sides have come to an agreement.

In a statement released Tuesday, UM said it had settled its contract dispute with Shannon, but did not disclose any details of the agreement.

Shannon was seeking damages from the school in the form of unpaid compensation dictated by his employment contract. Additionally, and according to the lawsuit, UM was attempting to recover “amounts overpaid” to Shannon in his Guarantee Agreement.

Shannon coached the Hurricanes from 2007-10. He was fired following a 28-22 overall record and 16-16 record in the ACC.
