APA month after announcing he would be transferring to TCU, ex-Nebraska running back Aaron Green is officially a Horned Frog.
TCU made the announcement in a release today. Per NCAA transfer rules, Green will sit out the 2012 season and have three years of eligibility left beginning in 2013.
The news of Green’s departure from Nebraska came in late April when Green’s father said his son wished to play in an offense better suited for his athleticism.
Green saw action in 12 games for the Cornhuskers in 2011 and was the team’s fifth-leading rusher with 105 yards and two touchdowns.
I don’t fault the kid for wanting to maximize his chances… but TCU must be a bit desperate.

He was one of the top running backs coming out of high school 2 years ago. He is fast, smart, and has great character. He will do very well at TCU. TCU is getting a player that was recruited hard by schools like Texas, Florida State, UCLA, etc. TCU isn’t desperate at all. This is big news for them. It would be like if Trent Richardson had transferred to Boise State after his Freshman year.
He’ll be very good at TCU. Glad to have him in the fold.
