Nearly two months after it was rumored that Scotty Young would likely be transferring from one Tech to another, that move has officially come to fruition.
In a press release, Louisiana Tech announced the additions of two quarterbacks to its 2012 roster. One of those is Young, who, along with Andy McAlindon, has enrolled in summer school at Tech and will be at summer camp in a couple of months.
Young spent the past two seasons at Texas Tech but did not play. A four-star member of the Red Raiders’ 2010 recruiting class, Young was the No. 10 pro-style QB coming out of high school in Denton, Tex.
In addition to the Bulldogs, Young had also considered transferring to North Texas.
McAlindon comes to Tech from American River Junior College in Sacramento, Calif., where he spent the 2011 season.
Young will have to sit out the 2012 season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules. McAlindon will be eligible to play immediately and have four years to use three seasons of eligibility.
