Tom Savage ends up at Pitt

Former Rutgers and Arizona quarterback Tom Savage has spent more time transferring among schools than he has actually playing. His third stop should be his last.

Via ESPN.com and his Twitter account, Savage has transferred to Pitt and has already enrolled in classes. Due to NCAA transfer rules, Savage will have to sit out -- again -- for the 2012 season. Savage already sat on the sidelines this past season when he transferred to Arizona from Rutgers.

Following a promising start with the Scarlet Knights, an injury-filled/poor-performing sophomore campaign resulted in Savage’s demotion to second-string, and subsequently, his decision to move on to Arizona. When former West Virginia and Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez was hired by UA at the end of last year, Savage again announced he would be moving on to another program.

That’s when Rutgers came into the picture -- again -- but the NCAA ultimately denied Savage a hardship waiver that would have allowed him to play immediately.

Pitt is entering its first season under new coach Paul Chryst, who runs a pro style offense more suited for Savage’s skill set.
