Tuesday was a monumental day for college football with the approval from the Presidential Oversight Committee of a four-team playoff.
Other than that, it was just another day in the offseason. Case in point: the suspension of two Texas A&M defenders by coach Kevin Sumlin.
Sumlin, nor A&M, would specify the reason why, but linebacker Steven Jenkins and defensive back Howard Matthews have been sidelined for one game each for a violation of team policy.
Jenkins had six starts and had 61 tackles last season. Matthews appeared in all 13 games last season and had 28 tackles.
The Aggies open up this season against Louisiana Tech.
Don’t sleep on La Tech.
