A previously unreported arrest has landed wide receiver Darrin Moore in some hot water and, potentially, places his future at Texas Tech in doubt.
According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, Moore was arrested in mid-April and charged with driving while intoxicated. The arrest took place in the early morning hours of April 13 in the city of Lubbock.
No details as to what led to the initial stop by police were given.
As a result of the arrest, Moore has been indefinitely suspended by the Tech football program. Athletic director Blayne Beal told the paper that Moore’s reinstatement to Tech’s active football roster is not guaranteed.
Last season, Moore was second on the Red Raiders in receiving touchdowns (eight), while he was third on the Red Raiders in receptions (47) and receiving yards (571).
