Last week, the stepfather of Florida defensive line signee Dante Phillips told The Gainesville Sun that he did not expect his stepson to be admitted to the school despite an appeal.
That has unfortunately turned out to be the case for Phillips.
ESPN’s Derek Tyson reports that Phillips’ appeal to be admitted to Florida has been denied. Phillips, though cleared by the NCAA, had been dealing with an academic issue of sorts. As a result, and as John noted the other day, Phillips is back on the recruiting market and could make a decision soon.
Meanwhile, another Florida defensive line recruit, Jonathan Bullard, should be an official member of the football team in the near future.
