FSU CB Greg Reid arrested in Georgia

Congratulations to Florida State cornerback Greg Reid, who sets our Days Without an Arrest ticker back to zero.

According to WCTV in Tallahassee, Reid was arrested by the Georgia State Patrol last night and charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana and a seatbelt violation.

The station confirmed the arrest through the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, though a police report hasn’t been released yet, so details are scarce to say the least. Additionally, D.C. Reeves of Warchant.com reports there is nothing in the GSP’s system filed under Reid’s name (yet).

“I am aware that Greg has been charged and will gather all the information before I determine what course of action to take,” coach Jimbo Fisher said in a prepared statement.

Reid has been on the wrong side of the law before. In late September of last year, he was arrested and charged with two misdemeanors after being stopped by police on a scooter and identifying himself as a friend. Those charges were later dropped, however.

He was also suspended one game that same month for unspecified violation of team rules.

But Reid would be one of FSU’s better playmakers in 2011. He had two interceptions and was 18th in the country in punt returns with an average 11.24 yards per attempt.
