Getty ImagesIn some more scheduling news, Air Force and Oklahoma State have mutually decided to cancel their home-and-home series in 2015 and ’16, according to the Colorado Springs Gazette.
The Cowboys were set to travel to Colorado Springs in 2015 for a Sept. 5 game at Falcon Stadium, with Air Force heading to Stillwater on Sept. 10, 2016.
The decision had to have been made at least in part by the fact that Oklahoma State will only have three non-conference spots available with the Big 12 playing a nine-game conference slate. The Cowboys apparently had four non-con games scheduled for 2015. Tentatively, Oklahoma State has UTSA and Central Arkansas on that ’15 schedule.
Brutal.
So they cxl’ed potentially their most challenging OOC game the season after the playoff system starts that is going to look greatly at strength of schedule? Genius !!
And Air force is a huge strength??? OSU is in the big 12 if they win the big 12 their in the playoff period….why wouldn’t they schedule softies (which to me air force is a softie) in the non-con games when they still need to worry about getting upset by the likes of Iowa State (which we now know can happen) in their conference games??
Make them play on the Longhorn Network.
An IOWA STATE fan calling Air Force soft???? LMAO!!!!!!!! Good luck getting 4 wins this year……
Takes a softie to know a softie, I guess. One winning record in the last 6 seasons… ladies and gentlemen, let’s hear it for the Iowa State Cyclones!
I would rather be a softie in the big 12 then destroy the MWC every year (which we would), and I wasn’t saying that ISU is a powerhouse football program. I was just saying Air Force wasnt, didn’t know people would get upset at stating the obvious.
Okie State was originally testing the waters in case they had to run to the MW. Now since the b12 has gone off life support, they realize that AF will get sucked into the b12 so they can have a Conference Championship Game.
