We’re less than an hour away from the release of the Freeh investigation on Penn State’s actions related to former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.
The results are expected to be bad for PSU. How bad is not quite so clear. Whatever details emerge, though, Jay Paterno says he’s ready for them.
“We have never at any time been afraid of what people have had to say,” Paterno said on the Today Show. “But again, this investigation is just one opinion, it’s one piece of the puzzle. So we have to read it this morning just like everybody else at 9 o’clock and go from there.”
“Like I said, we’ve never been afraid of the truth. So let’s have the truth come out and go from there.”
Paterno added that he was one of several willing to speak with Freeh investigators.
“We were certainly more than willing, our attorneys were more than willing to talk to them and give them any information,” Paterno said. “We just wanted a thorough investigation ... that’s all Joe wanted.”
We’ll find out soon enough if he got what he wanted.
