Patriot-News: three more claim Sandusky abused them decades ago

Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky was convicted on 45 counts of child-sex abuse last month for incidents dating all the way back to the 1990s.

Allegations of abuse have now gone further back.

The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports that three men have come forward and told police that they were abused by Sandusky “in the 1970s or 1980s.”

If credible, the allegations would counter Sandusky’s defense during his trial that people don’t simply “become” pedophiles. One alleged victim claims he was abused in the early 1970s when Sandusky would have been in his late 20s.

The newest allegations now mean four new people have allegedly been abused by Sandusky. Toward the end of his trial, Sandusky’s adopted son, Matt, claimed he too was abused.

Last week, the Freeh report claimed Penn State officials knew as far back as the 1990s that Sandusky was showering with young boys.
