Frosh Iowa RB pleads guilty to drug paraphernalia charge

To clarify, it’s not another Iowa running back-related issue. Just wrapping up a previous legal run-in with freshman Greg Garmon.

The Erie Times-News reports that Garmon pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia Wednesday and ordered to pay a fine of just over $300. Garmon was hit with the misdemeanor charge last month following a traffic stop. Two other charges, simple possession of marijuana and driving an unregistered vehicle, were eventually dropped.

Now that his off-the-field issue has been resolved, Garmon told the Times-News he expects to head to Iowa to participate in preseason camp next month. Given Iowa’s running back attrition over the past several months, whether through injuries or departures, Garmon could compete for playing time right away this fall.
