    1. Pedophile state should charge money for photos with the statue and donate the money to charity.
    2. Don’t take the statue down. Paint it red and weld two little horns to this POS’ noggin.
    3. Kick out everyone at Ped State and turn it into a Federal Prison.

Penn State fans are coming by Paterno’s statue one last time in the event it’s taken down soon.

At least they’re not coming by 10 year old boys.

I do not believe that I have heard anything that is sadder than this. A human being is being worshiped. No matter what he did or did not do, he was a human, not God. Will Penn St. ever get their priorities going in the right direction?
Penn St. needs to get rid of everything that reflects what has been going on sense the 70es. None of the people who did or covered up these things should be remembered in any way.
Take down the statue, take the names off of the library or anywhere else they may be. Put names up who where not involved in any way. Call things by the names of your best scientist, best football player, most famous author. Someone who deserves recognition.
Tax yourselves. Charge the same but give a pecentage off the top to the victums for the rest of their lives. Act like you care. I am tired of seeing how you do not care about anything or anyone except Paterno. If a coach I thought so much of had blind folded himself and allowed this to continue, I would hate him for ever living and causing so much hatred of my university. How on earth can you take up for this joke for a human being?

From the available evidence, it does appear that Joe Paterno lied about his knowledge of Sandusky’s activities, that he helped cover up Sandusky’s crimes, and that he therefore enable further atrocities against children to be committed. There is no way around these conclusions unless someone has exculpatory evidence they have not brought forward (doubtful), nor the conclusion that he ultimately got his priorities very wrong. As a result, he greatly harmed the university he loved and irreparably harmed his own image.

People who care about PSU should want the statue down. They should clamor for justice and reparations for the victims.

People who care about Joe Paterno should also want the statue down. Paterno’s legacy now is what it is. The best that can be done for him is to not be talked about so constantly as he now is. (Bobby Bowden was right about this.)

Perhaps a museum could be built to educate about sex crimes and abuse; the Paterno statue could be part of it as an object lesson on the harm of looking the other way.

@’eer: stairway’s comment was over the top, but it was also a reaction to the far worse comments prior to his.

EA’s monopoly on football games has produced repackaged games year after year. Hopefully this changes that.
