Media picks FSU, VaTech to make ACC title game (again)

It seems no matter the year, Florida State and Virginia Tech will be favorites to compete for the ACC championship.

2012, you’re lacking some originality here.

The Seminoles and Hokies have been selected by the media to play in this year’s ACC title game once again. The media also selected FSU to beat Virginia Tech for the conference championship and Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins was selected as Preseason Player of the Year.

Here’s how the voting shook out with first place votes in parenthesis and total points on the right of the column.

Atlantic Division
1. Florida State (72) 543
2. Clemson (17) 470
3. NC State (5) 402
4. Wake Forest 241
5. Boston College 181
6. Maryland 148
Coastal Division
1. Virginia Tech (83) 558
2. Georgia Tech (10) 328
3. North Carolina (2) 341
4. Virginia 326
5. Miami 245

Ben, you do realize that Clemson has taken the ACC Atlantic Division two of the last three years including last year? How does that make FSU an again? If it’s because they’ve been there in the past (not most recent) then the again would apply to every school in the ACC except Pitt and Syr (2013 members).

jonkybon: It wasn’t the best phrased headline, but I thin Ben meant the media picked them again, not that they’re meeting again. The media has picked FSU vs VT 6 out of 8 times.

    @35longmiles

We still have 5 rings. How about your program? Come see me if your team ever gets there if they get there. Good luck with Muschump.
