AP(And, please, save your “Duke has a football team?” jokes for somewhere else. Thank you for your consideration.)
Projected to be a starter at defensive tackle, Duke’s Jamal Bruce will instead be on the sidelines for spring practice and perhaps part of this season.
Team officials told the AP that Bruce (pictured, far left) is out with a stress fracture in his right foot. He had surgery Tuesday and coach David Cutcliffe said he anticipated the DT to be out “temporarily.”
Bruce had five tackles in 12 games last season.
