Reports link Zeke Pike to Louisville... as a TE

Auburn coach Gene Chizik finally opened up about Zeke Pike earlier this week by announcing the freshman quarterback would not return to the team. Pike was sent home to Kentucky earlier this summer by Chizik for getting charged with public intoxication,

Reportedly, that’s where he’ll stay.

AuburnUndercover.com reports that Pike will transfer to Louisville... and line up as a tight end instead of a quarterback. Pike hasn’t reported to fall practices like the rest of the team, but the report adds that he is expected to next week.

Eric Crawford of WDRB in Louisville tweets Pike is headed to UL, but there’s been no confirmation from Louisville (and there won’t be officially) as of yet.

It would be a good move for Pike if the reports come to fruition. Louisville is located nearby Pike’s hometown of Fort Mitchell, KY, so Pike could be closer to his family. However, Pike would not be able to play until 2013.
