Here’s the thing. He didn’t make A mistake, he made the same mistake repeatedly and failed to learn from it. This kid is blessed with athletic ability that neither you nor I have and he threw it away just to get high.

If given the chance to play at one of the country’s top football programs, I’m pretty sure we’d all keep our asses on the straight and narrow and he couldn’t even do that.

This piece of work isn’t gone from LSU for two hours and he’s already pimping himself to another school? And who would be dumb enough to take him in knowing he’s there for a one-year stopover?

Are you kidding? The young man has made some mistakes and paid a terrible price for them, but he didn’t go out and stab a bunch of people. He failed a drug test. Now his life goes on. What do you want him to do? Crawl in a hole, forget trying to get an education, trying to play football, trying to redeem himself?

Good post and reasoning. I think many posters may be adolescents, without children. Even the prodigal son was received back after squandering his life and resources.

Tyrann’s father is in prison with a commuted life sentence, his mother did not want him and discarded him. His grandparents took him in to keep the young and small child from being homeless. His grandmother died when he was 5. He was then taken in by an uncle and aunt. He grew up on the hard streets of New Orleans. That is not given to excuse his bad choices, but to explain the atmosphere in which they were made.

Southern isn’t on the horizon probably cuz he wants to get out of Baton Rouge.

Do you realize that moving down divisions in football is not all it was cracked to be. Wn an athlete goes to a big time program such as LSU them kids are treated on a pedalstool, people other students waitin on them hand and feet. Not to mention all the access to things big colleges have. These guys move to these programs with the mindset they have to prove people wrong cause he went from a potential 1st rounder to now a 2nd or beyond and that’s a matter of millions he lost. Give a guy the benefit that he is going to change on his own instead of the coach supposedly changing him

My guesses: selling tickets and the revenue that those tickets produce. Those are more important for a McNeese than a for a SEC school. More people in the seats might impress that recruit who’s considering the school too.

Quick and short-lasting attention too perhaps. When the last time you considered the football team at McNeese? (No, disrespect here for the Cowboys!) I can imagine also coaches telling recruits: “we had scouts from nearly every NFL team visit last year….”

New Orleans media outlets are reporting that Tyrann is also considering:

Bethune-Cookman … McNeese State, Nicholls State, Southeastern Louisiana, and Grambling State …

Season tickets will likely skyrocket in sales at the college to which Tyrann transfers. If it is in Lake Charles, I know of many who will quickly buy season tickets. I understand the same is true in Thibodaux (Nicholls State) and other towns.
