As of yesterday, Miami quarterback Stephen Morris was atop the Hurricanes’ depth chart.
With just over two weeks from the start of the season, UM has confirmed that won’t change between now and the team’s first game against Boston College.
Miami offensive coordinator Jedd Fisch said Tuesday morning that Morris will definitely start against the Eagles.
Morris and Memphis transfer Ryan Williams have been locked in a tight battle for the job, but Williams got a head start in the spring because Morris was sidelined with a back injury. Morris was cleared to return to offseason workouts in May.
Morris also started last year’s season opener against Maryland when the ‘Canes were short-handed due to multiple NCAA suspensions. Incumbent starter Jacory Harris would later return from his suspension and finish the rest of the 2011 season as the starter. Morris finished the year with 283 yards and no touchdowns.
