Stunner: Iowa RB injured in scrimmage

Of course he was. AIRBHG would have it no other way.

Continuing a string of horrifically bad luck/injuries/off-field misadventures at the position unmatched in the annals of college football, Iowa running back Barkley Hill suffered some type of knee injury during a scrimmage yesterday afternoon. Hill could not place any weight on the leg after the injury and was taken via a cart into the locker room for treatment.

Head coach Kirk Ferentz (pictured, tearing both ACLs while merely thinking about the RB position) offered no specifics as to the extent of the injury.

That I don’t know,” offensive coordinator Greg Davis said when asked about the severity of the injury. “I saw the same thing you all saw, you probably had a closer look than I did. Kirk told the team he’s being examined now.

Hill suffered the injury while scoring a touchdown on what was to be the final play of the scrimmage, which is the most AIRBHG development ever. A three-star member of the Hawkeyes’ 2012 recruiting class, Hill had missed the first scrimmage of summer camp with a minor injury.

Hill has been listed as the No. 3 back behind starter Damon Bullock and backup Brad Rogers.
