APThe dismissal of running back Michael Dyer isn’t the only off-the-field issue Arkansas State has had personnel-wise this offseason.
Friday, Gus Malzahn announced through a release that freshman cornerback Tres Houston has been suspended for the entire 2012 season for, you guessed it, violating team rules.
“We have very high standards for our players to represent our team and University in a positive way,” said Malzahn. “It’s my hope that Tres will learn from this experience and take this time to grow as a person.”
There was no elaboration in the release, though the Jonesboro Sun reports that Houston was hit with shoplifting charges earlier this month.
A two-star recruit who signed with the Red Wolves this year, Houston previously attended Northeast Mississippi Community College.
