Updated: Auburn center busted for being drunk in public, suspended indefinitely

Everyone celebrates the arrival of college football a little differently. For Auburn center Reese Dismukes, it was apparently a week-long party beginning Friday evening.

The party ended before it ever really got started, though. Dismukes was arrested for public intoxication Friday night and released on a $300 bond, multiple media outlets reported Saturday morning through Lee County Sheriff online records.

As a result, he is facing an indefinite suspension.

The Dismukes incident comes just days after Gene Chizik confirmed that receiver DeAngelo Benton had been indefinitely suspended from the football program for violating an unspecified team rule.

Dismukes started all 13 games last season for Auburn and was listed on this year’s Rimington Trophy watch list. A suspension of any kind would most definitely be felt along Auburn’s O-line.

The Tigers open up the season in Atlanta against Clemson in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. Coincidentally enough, the Tigers (of Clemson) have suspended one of their best playmakers in receiver Sammy Watkins for that game because of a drug-related offseason arrest.
