APWell, that takes care of that. Maybe
Briefly suspended following an arrest on a drunk-driving charge, Fitz Toussaint‘s status for No. 8 Michigan’s opener vs. No. 3 Alabama has been very much up in the air. Today, a little — but not complete — clarity was added to the back’s availability for the huge Week One matchup.
On its depth chart for the game with the Tide in Arlington Saturday night, Toussaint is listed as the Wolverines’ starting running back. However, head coach Brady Hoke, during a subsequent press conference, stated that no decision has been made as to whether or not Toussaint will play.
As for when a decision will be made, Hoke would only allow “soon,” which makes sense since the first game is a mere six days away.
Last season, Toussaint led all UM running backs in rushing with 1,041 yards and nine touchdowns.
Lol! Way to set an example Hoke! Now I do not want to hear anymore hypocritical garbage from any B1G fans.
Flounder must have suspended him for practice!
hey Bigdinla, we didn’t say it doesn’t happen in the B1G, we say its just common practice/more prevalent elsewhere.
It would appear that the B1G aren’t a whole lot different than they are anyplace else. Discipline be damned when there is a game coming up.
What a joke! Typical scUM.
If these tow hard core criminals play against Alabama, it will be a crime in and of itself! Both should be suspended as long as Storm Klein was!
You are pathetic with your self-righteous indignation and falls shock.
If Brady Hoke allow RB to start he is basically OK with a Player getting a DUI. The Court Hearning is not till tomorrow. Big Ten is desparate to be the SEC they will do just about anything.. Case in point.
Funny that so many comments are condemning Hoke and the Wolverines, when he hasn’t stated that Fitz is playing yet!
Maybe reserve your indignation for an announcement asserting that Fitz will play. Until then, there is NO decision!

Most people have common sense and realize that when someone is named the starter, they usually start….
When all the Michigan fans were shouting from the rooftops how Hoke is the king of dicipline and he was showing once again how to set the example. I laughed and continued to say that Toussaint would be starting against Alabama. It’s to big of a game to sit him. If it was Eastern or Umass then yeah he would probably sit, not a chance against Alabama though. The whole ‘suspended indefinitely’ is more of a formality in college football then anything at all.
To the people who think he should be suspended for a DUI, I dont really understand that either. There are a lot worse crimes committed that the player are not suspended for. It’s not like he has a history of doing anything wrong. College kid drank and drove. IM SHOCKED!!!!!!!!!!!
Anywyas, good luck to Michigan. Hope you can beat Alabama so October 20th can be your first loss. GO GREEN!
Relax haters…I am HOKE A MANIA and my word is the law….and if we need fitz…then he will play
Yes he’s listed as the starter for now. But anybody who closely follows Michigan football knows that there is NO WAY Hoke is starting him.
So why is he listed as a starter? Why give ‘Bama more of an edge by announcing his suspension now? They have to game plan for both Toussaint and Smith as starters. Unless Hoke makes the announcement, and then they can put all their eggs in one basket.
B1G is not, and never will be, as lax on discipline as the SEC (unless Urban Whiner brought some of the ethos with him). Hoke isn’t going to stand for any disciplinary infractions. Bank on that.

What do the events that happen at Michigan have to do with anything at any other B1G school?
And as to whether Touissant starts? I really doubt that he plays. Hoke hasn’t released his starters for Saturda; they merely have a depth chart and Fitz is their #1 RB. Has nothing to do with whether he plays on Saturday, which I’m fairly certain he won’t.
If he does play/start on Saturday, then feel free to rip on Michigan for allowing him to do so.
A fat Franklin says Flounder sits him out of the 1st 1 or 2 offensive series and then puts him in after that
Good GOD!!!! What is wrong with some of you??? The kids, and yes he is a kid, hearing is tomorrow. If the charges are dropped he will play. If they are not then he will sit. There is something to be said for making rash decisions…
If Wednesday Hoke is still starting the kid and he was charged, then scream and stomp all you want…
WHAAAAAAA!!!
Wow, the whining on this post is AMAZING!
Go BLUE!!!
Michigan and Hoke has just opened a can of worms that will be a black mark on them for a long time.
MADD and SADD are already planning protest at the Michigan campus, look for their reps to be on TV shows soon.
If Hoke plays Farmer the fallout will be terrible!!
Letting a player with a felony charge play is 10 times worse than than the DUI.
As for comparisons with the SEC, Auburn’s starting Center was stopped and charged with a DUI this past weekend. He is not going to even travel to Atlanta for the Auburn/Clemson game.
So there is another shot a Michigan on the internet.
Coach Hoke please do not let Michigan become the Miami Hurricanes of the B1G 10.
As we say in the SEC, geeeeeee this’ goin to be interestin. Wonder whos got more to lose, just sayin. Hey polegojim, how ya doin Baby?
