Well, that’ll certainly leave a dent in the passing game depth.
Three days ahead of the season opener, East Carolina announced that three wide receivers – senior Dayon Arrington, sophomore Danny Webster and redshirt freshman Antonio Cannon — have been suspended for Saturday’s game against Appalachian State. Obviously, no reason other than the standard rhetoric was given.
“Dayon, Danny and Antonio have been suspended for a violation of team policy,” a statement from head coach Ruffin McNeill read. “There are rules and policies in place for a reason and we expect those to be followed, unconditionally.”
The trio are expected to be back on the field the following week as the Pirates travel to South Carolina to take on the No. 9 Gamecocks.
The biggest loss will be Webster, who started six of the 11 games in which he played as a true freshman and totaled 43 receptions for 418 yards. Arrington has played in 23 career games with 13 receptions for 124 yards, while Cannon was a redshirt last season.

I don’t really care about ECU. (Who does?) I’m just posting here to express my thrill that in less than 24 hours, college football is BACK!
I care about ecu. What people don’t care about is how excited you are that football is coming back. Everyone is.
