Apparently, Tracy Moore has become very familiar with the Stillwater Police Department over the past five months.
The Oklahoma State wide receiver was cited for public intoxication in March. In early June, Moore was cited for “outraging public decency,” which amounted to taking a leak in an alley.
Late last week, Moore hit the citation trifecta.
Both Tulsa World and the Daily Oklahoman have reported that the receiver received a citation for suspicion of providing alcohol to a minor Friday. The former paper provides the particulars:Moore, 21, is accused of providing the alcohol outside Brown’s Bottle Shop in Stillwater.
After he spoke with the woman, who is younger than 21, he entered the store, Stillwater Police Capt. Randy Dickerson said Wednesday. When he came back outside, an alcohol enforcement officer saw him give the alcohol to the minor, Dickerson said.
Moore was taken to the Stillwater Jail, where he was cited on a municipal complaint and then released, records show.
For that incident, Moore has already been fined $549. Add that to the fines for his two previous citations -- $149 for being a drunk in public, $249 for being a urinator in public -- and Moore has donated nearly $1,000 to the SPD coffers in less than half a year, which is about the most unselfish and civic-minded thing a college football player could hope to do.
As of yet, Oklahoma State hasn’t publicly addressed Moore’s offseason missteps, although, to be fair, the head coach would probably scream something about his age relative to the player in question and the point would be lost anyways.
Last season, Moore caught 45 passes for 672 yards and four touchdowns. Those totals lead all returning receivers for the Cowboys, and Moore figures to be a very important and experienced target for the true freshman OSU will start under center.
