One of the more highly-touted players to land with Pitt this year won’t get a chance to show his capabilities against Youngstown State later this evening.
Per Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, freshman running back Rushel Shell has been suspended for tonight’s game for what’s being tabbed as disciplinary reasons. Also suspended are Tyrone Ezell, Anthony Gonzalez, Shayne Hale, Ronald Jones and Chris Davis.
Shell was a five-star member of the Panthers’ 2012 class and considered the prize recruits for Paul Chryst. The effect of Shell’s absence will depend on whether Ray Graham is back from his season-ending knee injury from last year.
The reason for the suspension is that Shell was not at the team hotel last night but instead out in Oakland section of Pittsburgh at a mcDonalds and telling other students “I’m Rushel Shell and I got stacks” while trying to start a fight with people. Sounds like he was pretty drunk
Really shows how much you know mattacc31. Shell was at the Hopewell game Friday night supporting his previous team. If you are going to talk, maybe you should ensure what you are saying is correct before you go posting it over the internet.
