Six Fresno State players suspended for various lengths

The Tim DeRuyter era at Fresno State got off to a good start Saturday with an expected 37-10 win over Weber State. Away from the field, though, the news wasn’t quite as good.

Suspensions for six players were announced by the school. Most notably is receiver Rashad Evans, who will miss one game for violation of NCAA regulations. Evans had 44 grabs for 351 yards and three touchdowns last season. Receivers Victor Dean and A.J. Johnson are also suspended for violating team and NCAA policy, respectively. Johnson will miss the season.

On defense, suspended are defensive backs Davon Dunn (indefinitely) and Terrance Dennis (four games), as well as linebacker Ibe Nduke (indefinitely).
