UCF RB ‘week-to-week’ with shoulder injury

A bruised shoulder suffered in a 56-14 win over Akron could sideline UCF running back Latavius Murray for next Saturday’s game against Ohio State -- perhaps longer.

Knights coach George O’Leary said Sunday that Murray was “week-to-week” with the injury, but didn’t elaborate how ready he thought his senior back would be the next week. Murray had 108 yards on just 14 carries Thursday against the Zips.

If Murray isn’t ready to go, UCF could use a combination of Miami transfer Storm Johnson, Brynn Harvey and Cedric Thompson. Those three combined for 28 carries for 91 yards and two touchdowns in the opener.

Harvey was the team’s leading rusher last season 574 yards, although Murray wasn’t far behind with 549 yards on 28 fewer carries.

The Buckeyes are coming off an impressive 56-10 win over Miami (OH).
