As expected, RB Fitz Toussaint will start for Michigan

Michigan running back Fitz Toussaint has already been reinstated to the football team following a one-game suspension (against Alabama). Now, he’s re-earned his starting job.

Brady Hoke announced Friday on that Toussaint will start today against Air Force.

“They are both going to play,” Hoke said earlier this week of Toussaint and defensive end Frank Clark, who was also suspended against the Tide.

Toussaint was arrested July 21 and hit with a drunk driving charge, but that was eventually reduced to operating a vehicle while visibly impaired, to which he pleaded guilty. Clark was charged around the same time as Toussaint with second-degree home invasion stemming from the alleged theft of a MacBook Air from a student’s dorm room this past June.

Toussaint rushed for 1,041 yards as a redshirt sophomore last season.

    I still wonder how Toussant would have impacted the ‘Bama game…I think the Tide still would have won, but I can’t help thinking it would have been closer.

    @overratedgators – I think better… but maybe by 10 points only.

    Hoke is working to position UM for ‘it’s’ game with a few bangers. Coach Saban has built the Tide in fashion of smashmouth banging RBs and D – former Big 10 structure. With a QB that can throw, it’s a lethal combo.

    @Priors-for-heisman… one note song… one trick donkey… yawn… you’re boring us. Move along and get a tattoo. GREAT job at cut and paste. If you’re going to try to be insulting, at least have some substance and be good at it.

    Jaygott: I watched the whole thing … Did you read my post? I said very clearly ‘Bama still would have won – they’re an insanely good team. All I said was that it might have not have been a 41-14 blowout.

    And Pryor: let it go. It was one game for every game Pryor played while ineligible, which in my mind, is completely fair.

    HOKE imo you better get another starter at QB.

    Pryor4heisman. Get a life. Once again as always stated, Fitzs error was a one night thing. The tattoo scandal was over many months if not years

    What is U.M. or Notre Dame teaching anyone about accountability? A felony theft with a court date pending and a drunk driving charge should rise to the level of a major susspension. College football is getting to look like the NFL more and more. Shameful!

    I don’t understand the “driving while visually impaired” thing. Either he blew over .08 or he didn’t.
