Rex Burkhead will not play against UCLA

The status of Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead for tonight’s game against UCLA has been in question ever since he sprained his MCL in the Huskers’ season opening win over Southern Miss.

With kickoff not too far off, it’s been announced officially that Burkhead indeed will not play against the Bruins. The running back did make the trip, however.

The good news for Nebraska is that it has the depth to handle Burkhead’s absence. Ameer AbdullahImani Cross and Braylon Heard are all capable of carrying the load in the backfield.
