DISH is now a Pac-12, B1G Networks satellite provider

In the battle for third-tier Pac-12 programming, DISH Network has won the right to be the conference’s satellite provider -- at least right away.

The two sides made the announcement late Friday night. It should be noted this is not an exclusive agreement for content; Direct TV can partner with the league at a later date. DISH also reach an agreement in principle with the Big Ten Networks.

Big day for the satellite company.

“DISH is delighted to offer our customers more than 800 sporting events available on Pac-12 Networks each year, while giving them a great value,” said Dave Shull, DISH senior vice president of programming, in a statement. “This is a great partnership with the Pac-12 that goes beyond the TV screen to the campuses in the form of an exclusive sponsorship to support the programs and the students.”
