Report: Jayhawks lose starting LB to season-ending injury

For the first time in his young collegiate career, Prinz Kande started a game this past weekend.

Unfortunately, the first was also the last for the linebacker, at least as far as the 2012 season is concerned.

While the school has yet to confirm the severity of the injury, the Lawrence Journal-World is reporting that the redshirt junior suffered both a torn ACL and MCL in the loss to Rice Saturday. As a result, Kande will miss the remainder of the year.

As Kande played in just two games this season, he would be a likely candidate for a medical redshirt, which would leave him with two years of eligibility remaining the paper notes.

The past two seasons, Kande played in 23 games.
