Former Miami player goes bonkers on radio show after ‘Canes loss

Collin Klein, Kacy Rodgers II AP

It took three days before the grieving Arkansas fan video was rolled off the top of the mountain for media clip of the week.

We present to you former Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman Dan Sileo, who now hosts a radio show on WQAM in Miami. Following UM’s 54-13 loss to Kansas State last Saturday, Sileo went on a three-minute rant of biblical proportions covering, among other things: respect, defense and pulling a knife on an opposing quarterback.

The best part is actually hearing Sileo transform into The Incredible Hulk live on air! Now that’s quality radio!

(Warning: the audio contains explicit language. Also, proceed with caution if you’re a fan of Eastern Michigan or FIU because you’re about to get told just how bad you are by an angry ex-player of a program that can’t win a divisional title. Enjoy!)

    Awesome rant!

I felt like this guy while watching UW get smoked by LSU.

Really wanted to punch someone in the face.

Dan Sileo, that was comedy gold. Get ready for more, Miami is a “has been” and will not compete at a high level again for a long, long time.

LMFAO!! That……was……AWESOME!! I laughed my a$$ off the whole 3 minutes lol!!

Thats hilarious, I’m speechless. Next week it will be a similar rant by a former Gator. LOL

Sileo is an idiot, although that was hilarious. He used to be in Tampa and got suspended by the station here for (I believe) saying the Glazers were involved with that guy that ran the huge Ponzi scheme (can’t remember his name) and then got fired in March for making a racially insensitive comment about VJax, Carl Nicks and Courtland Finnegan. Not many people here in Tampa put too much stock in what he had to say.

Geez, imagine what he’s going to say when they lose to the unranked ACC teams 4-5 more times this season. LoL

  7. floridacock says: Sep 13, 2012 4:43 PM

Glad he is off the air here in Tampa. WQAM, you can have him, along with the fines the FCC is going to level you with.

Actually, Sileo sounds more like he’s transforming into the Dad from A Christmas Story.

Miami hasn’t been relevant since what 2001?? Who cares. Florida is on there way to Miami status.

  12. monsterright says: Sep 13, 2012 5:57 PM

Perhaps the U should take a proactive stance in the upcoming sanctions and take the second “self imposed” bowl ban this year. Then they’ll only have 2 or so remaining.

  13. WingT says: Sep 13, 2012 6:00 PM

“…82 points and 1000 yards in the last 2 games…”
“…Kansas St ranked 21st before the game and 21st after…” – now that’s respect, lol

The good news for the U is that they have no where to go from here but up

  14. WingT says: Sep 13, 2012 6:01 PM

Oh wait, I forgot about the NCAA…guess you might have a little more “downside” left, lol

  15. canetic says: Sep 13, 2012 6:14 PM

Did he expect Miami to be good this year? I love the Canes but let’s be realistic. In two or three years they might be competitive again, but they are a young team now.

On the bright side, thanks to my U education I made about $25,000 in the markets today.

That is awesome & jUst think how mad he woUld have been had the score ACTUALLY been 54-13 rather than 52-13…….

So raw and I love it, the most passionate person is a former player

  18. ezwriter69 says: Sep 13, 2012 7:48 PM

Roid Rage, what an ugly sight.
“Sileo is the strongest player in Miami Hurricane history, with a 535-pound bench press and 700-pound squat and running a 4.81 40-yard dash…
Sileo is an admitted former anabolic steroid user…” who had to sue to get into the league at all and then was never anything but a special teamer, and wound up in the WeLaf and Arena League.
FORMER anabolic steroid user? PEE TEST!!!!

    1. Roid Rage
    2. It’s Miami. Go to SB and kick it on the surf, bruh
    3. Blood pressure during rant: 205/140

  20. thraiderskin says: Sep 13, 2012 8:25 PM

I feel for the guy… I get it, he expects something great from a team he played for. I totally understood his rage, I can honestly say, I was growing enraged listening to him. He made me respect The U a little more today and I’m not a Hurricane fan. Man-up Canes, too many greats layed it on the line for you to choke it up so damn bad. I wish a former Buckeye would show that much passion after a butt whoopin (I believe one is definitely coming in the future).

    Not exactly true.
    1) The meat of their schedule will likely produce another laugher or two. Could we even see a worse performance?

    2) Harsh NCAA sanctions will be announced soon. This will cast an even gloomier pall over this sorry team and give them yet more reasons to phone it in.

    3) UM has a history now of, by seasons end, growing very thin from injuries and just plain collapsing and or quitting. This team has that written all over it as well.

It’s not just the team that is bad, the entire program stinks. So yeah WingT, there is definitely room for these guys to be worse.

And laughably, cane fools think that they are just a young team and that everything is on track. Seriously.

(ATTENTION CANE FOOLS: please click dislike NOW. Need to get to 25 dislikes by days end. I will kick it off by disliking my own comment)

  24. dmvtransplant says: Sep 14, 2012 9:29 AM

As somebody that earned a degree from Kansas State I find this to be completely hilarious. And sad that they didn’t move up in the rankings after destroying Miami.

    That made my day.

Sad to see and hear about the sad state of Miami football. That was the team of my youth. Still have The U 30 for 30 saved on my DVR because it brought back so many cool memories watching them growing up. Looks like those days are never coming back.

    that was easy

    my work here is done

  28. scalpemseminoles says: Sep 17, 2012 12:56 PM

The U isn’t relevant. they sold 400 tickets to their season opener. pathetic. there’s probably community college with more ticket sales.

  29. michflaguy says: Sep 19, 2012 5:39 PM

    Hey Sileo…where have you been???
Miami sucks…and EVERYONE already knew that – except, apparently, YOU!
Dude…you are a tool, you support a team that blows, and you are a HORRIBLE radio host.
