Getty ImagesThe path of Hurricane Isaac was enough prevent Louisiana-based Nicholls State from traveling up to Corvallis to play Oregon State for its previously scheduled Week 1 game. When it was announced that the game had been postponed, the date of Dec. 1 immediately came up as a possibility.
Indeed, that’s come to fruition. OSU announced Thursday that its game with NSU has been moved to 11:30 a.m. PT on Dec. 1 and will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
There is one stipulation, however. According to the release, there is an “understanding that the contest will not be played should either OSU qualifies for the Pac-12 Football Championship Game or Nicholls State qualifies for the NCAA FCS playoffs. If either of those scenarios unfolds the game will be canceled and the contract becomes null and void.”
Oregon State beat No. 13 Wisconsin last week, 10-7. Nicholls State fell 9-3 to to South Alabama in what would have been the second of three straight games against 1-A opponents (NSU plays Tulsa next).
Woohoo, I was worried about that.
Sounds like Nicholls State is pretty good
