Pair of Iowa RBs hurt against Northern Iowa

You know by now that being an Iowa running back means you’re automatically prone to injury and/or arrests and/or personal issues. And, indeed, more attrition has struck the Hawkeyes backfield not once, but twice today.

Though Iowa leads Northern Iowa 17-13 -- which by itself is bad enough -- it will have to finish the game without one, possibly two running backs. Damon Bullock sustained what could be a concussion after taking a knee to the helmet. After being examined by team trainers, Bullock’s helmet was taken away and he looks to be done for the game.

Replacing Bullock was freshman Greg Garmon, but he injured his right arm after just three rushes. Assuming he doesn’t spontaneously combust, Mark Weisman is the new running back for the Hawkeyes.

If Weisman can’t finish, get ready to strap on some pads and a helmet.
