@waynefontes:

I'm just mimicking what your SEC brethren say every week. No sooner did you defend the Gators, an LSU fan busts out some Janet Jackson..."What Have you Done for Me Lately?"

Everyone has short memories & little patience today. If you want to live in the past quit telling other fans of other teams to quit living in the past. Dont care if it's 5 yrs agor or 15 yrs ago...today's fan demands a minimum of ten wins or the HC must be fired. It's opponents fans demand a BCS NC or they should fold the fball program.

Were SEC fans chanting "S-E-C!" after Auburn beat ULM? Like a previous poster correctly stated, this stuff goes in cycles...it always does. Ask the average fan to name the following teams' HC before they were relevant:

Texas before Mack Brown
OU before Bob Stoops
USC before Pete Carroll
LSU before Nick Saban
Florida before Spurrier

Then have them name the four failed HC at Bama between Stallings & Saban. HINT: Most are named Mike.

I doubt 80% of fans on this board can name those coaches w/o looking it up.

I didn't realize an Arkansas coach molested young boys and then his head coach, AD and President helped to cover it up. That the athletic program enabled a pedophile.

Oh wait, that was Penn State.

To think, a QB with multiple rape accusations isn't even the worst representative of football in Pennsylvania.

Maybe Georgia finally lives up to the hype & joins them this year, but when ULM can compete for the #3 spot in he toughest division in the toughest conference on CFB, then it's time to reassess. Kudos to Bama....they're a juggernaut that will dominate until Saban decides to retire. LSU is so loaded it doesn't matter they have an imbecile for a HC...they'll still win 10-11 games per year....thanks to Saban who set the program up for Miles.

"Will it become Wilson’s Tim Tebow moment, or will it create a rift that’s too great to overcome over the next nine games?"

Might be a biased opinion since I'm obviously a Florida fan, but no, that won't be a "Tebow moment" for Wilson. Tebow's post game comments were all positive, about how "a lot of GOOD will come from this" (meaning the loss obviously); how we'll never see a player work harder, or push his teammates or himself harder. Wilson instead chose to rip his teammates... that's a huge difference in the two scenarios.

Wilson's reputation will take a severe hit for the way he handled this. He could learn something about leadership by watching a video of Tebow's post-game words. Heck, they put a plaque of Tim's comments on display at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (right next to his Heisman Trophy :) ). I kind of doubt Arkansas will memorialize Wilson's rant.

John L. Smith was never going to be anything more than a seat-warmer for his ten-month contract. Even had he produced a remarkable season, there still would have been a feeling that it was really Petrino's team and that Arky would have done better had Bobby still been at the helm. Smith can now be rest assured that he's one game closer to retirement or his next job, while the Hogs take their time finding their next head coach.

But I cannot help but wonder if Petrino's success in Fayetteville was based on smoke and mirrors. Seriously, a single QB was the difference between a national championship run and losing to ULM and getting annihilated by 'Bama? The Hog defense looked as bad as it ever has, the offensive line is offensive, and despite having Knile back, they still have no running game. They were able to beat the decent teams on their schedule last year, but were run out of the stadium by the two big dogs they faced. Today's game may not have been Arky going back to the drawing board so much as being unmasked as a program that somehow managed to do a lot with a little for the previous few seasons.

Arkansas has no defense fer cryin out loud. They lost by 80 points to LSU and Bama last year, nothing has changed. The still have Big East level talent on D, and a few stellar performers on offense can never overcome that in this league.

Bama took it easy on them. It could have been a lot worse. Goodbye John L, you can take comfort in the fact that Petrino would have also been beaten by the same margin.

I do not know how what Tyler said will play with his fellow players, but I know how it plays with reasonably minded fans outside of Fayetteville--he is right. Where was UA's defense? Well, where was the Razorbacks' defense in the second half of the game against UL-Monroe? This week even worse? On the offensive side, it could be said that without Tyler the offense was pitiful. It was last week in the second half and this week all game.

Certainly, we all thought Alabama would run like a juggernaut over Alabama, but no one I think, thought it would be that lopsided. The head coach John L. Smith is to blame. Some of this assistants are also to blame. Count the days until he is gone. The new head coach will hopefully bring in his choice of assistant coaches.

I know what it is to be embarrassed by the Crimson Tide when your head coach does not adequately prepare your team for the opponent. I really know. In the case of John L. it was not the first time but a continuation of what he did last game.

I wish the best to our northern neighbors and especially to Tyler to fully recover. May his frustrated and disappointed speech to his teammates be received in the honesty and truth which his words represent. I wish all the best for the Razorbacks the remainder of the season except when my LSU Tigers have to come up to Fayetteville on the last game.
