Back at work, it’s ‘business as usual’ for Bo Pelini

Reported flu-like symptoms resulted in Nebraska coach Bo Pelini leaving yesterday’s game against Arkansas State early to head to the hospital. The good news is that Pelini turned out to be okay.

“Everything is fine,” Pelini said in a statement. “They ran some precautionary tests and everything checked out just fine. I plan to be back at work tomorrow. I’m proud of our team and coaching staff for the way they responded this afternoon.”

Indeed, Pelini is back. Per the Journal-Star, the coach was back at work on Sunday and a school spokesman said it was “business as usual. An update on his health status is expected for Monday during his weekly press conference. It’s still unclear what symptoms Pelini had, but a team trainer was taking Pelini’s pulse on the sideline.

Defensive coordinator John Papuchis acted as the head coach for the second half in Pelini’s absence. Nebraska beat Arkansas State 42-13.
